This villa in Tuscany has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and lies around a mile and a half from Castelfiorentino.

The old rural origins are clear to see in this lovingly restored barn, work realised entirely by hand by owner Vincenzo. Using the original materials and old techniques, he has reconstructed a superbly relaxing oasis, far from the stress and noise of the city.

Where the wagons once rested, there is now the dining room, with a cosy hearth constructed from hand-made bricks. A broad passageway leads to the kitchen: a faithful reconstruction of the old kitchens that you find everywhere in Tuscan farmhouse, with a stone sink, cut by hand.

The five bedrooms are large and airy, simple in their elegance, with big windows from which you can admire the rolling hills of the Tuscan countryside.


The ground floor has a dining room with an antique wood table (seats 12 people), sofa, armchairs, fireplace, a traditional sideboard, satellite TV, and a wide corridor, home to the hifi and leading to the downstairs bedroom. The kitchen is well equipped, with an original stone sink, working fireplace, oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, and a nice marble table. There is a laundry with washing machine and a bathroom with shower. The downstairs bedroom has a well-restored wardrobe, two bedside tables and a sofa.

The stone stairway leads upstairs and the four bedrooms and two bathrooms (one with shower and one with tub). The first double bedroom has a picture of Michelangelo as the bed head, an old English wardrobe with a mirror, an antique chest of drawers, two bedside tables and a sofa. The twin bedroom has a pretty writing desk, a chair, a hand-painted wardrobe and two bedside tables. The second double bedroom has a wrought-iron bed head, a wardrobe, a chest of drawers, a large mirror and a pretty chair, two bedside tables and a sofa. There is a very romantic double/twin bedroom with a sofa, a wardrobe and two bedside tables from the 19th century.

The hayloft has a garden, from where you can admire the wonderful view of the Tuscan hills and its superb sunsets, in complete tranquillity. You can also take your meals on the panoramic terrace. Far from the pollution of the city, you can sit at night and lose yourself in the enormous starry sky. From May to September, you can enjoy the 15 metre swimming pool.

The house has satellite TV, hifi, washing machine, Hoover, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and oven. In Castelfiorentino you can find whatever you need, including the railway station, supermarkets, banks, post office, chemists, hospital, all kinds of stores, gyms, beauty centres, library, cinema, theatre, antique churches and museums.
