Nestling discreetly against a steep hillside, the three picturesque buildings that constitute IL TORRINO enjoy a lovely outlook across a lush, densely forested valley. Converted from an 18th century watchtower and farmhouse, IL TORRINO has been very cleverly designed and landscaped, so that each of the seven apartments has its own rather private terrace, equipped with barbeque and screened by the wonderfully mature vegetation of the splendid grounds.

Although the property feels delicious rural, its location in the very centre of the triangle formed by Florence, Siena and Pisa makes it an excellent base for those keen on immersing themselves in Renaissance art and architecture. Closer to home, you’ll find enchanting hill towns and villages, providing a good choice of restaurants.
The nearest, a pizzeria on the edge of Montaione, is just 1 km away, and the centre of this village, marked by a beautiful belvedere, is just 2km. Other good places to eat are the nearby little spa town of Gambassi Terme or, a little further afield, the larger town of Certaldo. The stunning monastery and chapels of San Vivaldo are just ten minute drive away, and the magnificent mediaeval towers of San Gimignano can also be reached in no more than half an hour.

The apartments, thanks to careful restoration work, are supplied with all comforts and furnished with antique pieces of furniture. Every apartment has its own telephone, television set with satellite programs, gas kitchen and oven, single heating system, towels, sheets, and american coffee machine. Some apartments have an independent area for outdoor living.

There is a garden with garden-furniture, table-tennis, barbecue, private tennis, laundry, gazebo and two beautiful swimming-pools (irregular shape, about 16 x 6 metres, open from 01 May to 30 October), all shared with other apartments. Wine, oil and other local products can be bought at the reception. Pets allowed.

Located on the first floor, it has a lounge with double sofa bed, a large kitchen with open fireplace, three bedrooms and two bathrooms with shower.

Boccaccio: (70 sqm. Suitable for 4-6 people)

Located on the ground floor, it has a lounge with double sofa bed, a kitchen with four rings, oven and fridge, an open fire place and dining room, two bedrooms (1 bedroom with double bed and 1 bedroom with with twin beds), two bathrooms with shower. Terrace with garden furniture and barbecue.

D’Annunzio: (60 sqm. Suitable for 4-6 people)

Located on the first floor, it has a lounge with double sofa bed, kitchen with four rings, oven and fridge, an open fire place and dining room, two bedrooms, a large bathroom with shower, terrace.

Machiavelli:(60 sqm. Suitable for 4-6 people)

Located on the ground floor, it has a lounge with double sofa bed, kitchen with four rings, oven and fridge, an open fire place and dining room, two bedrooms, a large bathroom with shower, small private garden with furniture.

Petrarca: (45 sqm. Suitable 2-3 people) :

On the ground floor, it has a lounge with single sofa bed, kitchen with four rings, oven and fridge, an open fire place and dining room, one bedroom, bathroom with shower, terrace.

The restoration of the old foundry allowed the creation of the Leonardo da Vinci and Lorenzo il Magnifico apartments. They are of the highest quality, restored and decorated with great care and attention to detail in order to maintain a classic Tuscan style. They both feature satellite TV, telephone (outgoing only), fire place, bathroom with shower, fridge, oven, dishwasher, american coffee machine, crockery and implements. The apartments have an independent entrance and exclusive use of the surrounding garden space; immersed in an atmosphere of paradise, they are perfect for a relaxing holiday...
