Near the Roveta woods, on the hills of Florence, there is a little heaven. A restored hamlet, lying alongside a mill dating to Roman times, is now home to seven apartments in one of the most beautiful places in the Florence area.

Farmhouse San Vincenzo a Torri is situated on the hills south west of Florence in a rural country area of enchanting beauty, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves, fruit trees and forests. The history and scenery of the past are still very much alive today with little villages, old farms and ancient villas standing as testimony to times gone by.

You will find the rustic village of San Vincenzo in the centre of a farming area of over 40 hectares. It was originally built next to a lake that no longer exists, but which at one time provided its water to the local 16th century mill which is still standing.

The apartments have recently been renovated with care and attention to detail so as to preserve the antique feel and taste of old Tuscan farmhouses. The aim was to make the apartments as comfortable for the guests as possible but to keep the character intact by maintaining such features as the cypress wooden beams, brick archways, old chestnut wood fireplaces and the stone steps.

Even the furnishings have been kept in style with original beds and wardrobes; the chests of drawers in the bedrooms were built by old craftsmen in the late 19th century, as well as the kitchen tables with marble tops, cupboards and all the various small items of furniture. For the perfect finishing touch, the upholstery and curtains have all been chosen to reflect the taste and colours of the Tuscan countryside.

The private gardens of the seven apartments that compose the estate all have tables and chairs at your disposal for you to be able to enjoy eating al fresco. The swimming pool is situated in the middle of a wide open space surrounded by tall trees. On the property it is possible to buy white and red wine, vin santo and oils produced there, and from Monday to Saturday it is possible to have groceries delivered directly to you before 12:30 by simply placing an order by telephone before 10 o'clock with the local grocery store.

There are seven apartments at Farmhouse San Vincenzo a Torri: five have a private garden while L'Orcio has a private area outside on the courtyard, and La Terrazza - as the name suggests - has a big terrace with a panoramic view over the hills and fields. The guests apartments are next to the actual farm and cellar.

This apartment is located in the old hay loft of the Fattoria. Ground floor: kitchen, bathroom with shower, dining-room, living-room with fireplace; First floor: 1 double bedroom with private bathroom, 1 twin bedded room, 1 single bed-room, 1 bathroom with shower.

Apartment Il Castello - 130 m² - 7 guests. Ground floor, mezzanine, first floor - private garden.

Apartment La Terrazza - 1163 m² + 18 m² terrace - 4 + 2 guests.

Swimming Pool: The swimming pool - 6m x 12m - (open from mid May to the end of October) is situated in the middle of a wide open space surrounded by tall trees.

Horse Riding, 6 km: guests of San Vincenzo a Torri will enjoy discounted prices (a medical certificate stating you are "fit and healthy" and anti-tetanus certification are requested). Golf Course, 8 km: in Montelupo Fiorentino there is an 18-hole golf course. Tennis, 6 km from the farmhouse.

At Cerbaia village , 6 km from the farmhouse you'll find every kind of service you need: butchers, green grocers, baker, florist, newsagent, supermarket, bars, post office, bank, chemist, clothing and furniture shops. At San Vincenzo village, 2 km away, you'll find bar, bus station, fuel station and Post Office.
