Apartments to rent in Rome, Italy - central location, sleeps 2
This sunny Rome apartment is situated on the fourth floor
of an ancient building (no elevator), and has a charming terrace from
where to admire the city of Rome.
The apartment is located in one of the the
oldest street of Rome, Via Giulia. This Renaissance street is named
after Pope Julius II della Rovere (1503-13), who
urbanised the 'rat’s nest' of Mediaeval Rome. The kilometre-long stretch flanks
the Tiber from the pedestrian Ponte Sisto to the Ponte Vittorio Emanuele.
There is little doubt it is one of the most charming and refined streets
of the city; the silence and atmosphere of this road is remarkable
when you consider its closeness to the colourful market of Campo de’ Fiori
or the old area of Trastevere.
In five or ten minutes of easy walking
you can reach all the most
interesting monuments of Rome: the Pantheon, the Imperial Forum, San
Pietro, Piazza di Spagna, the old Ghetto,
Castel Sant’Angelo, the Colosseum and so on. Less than 10 minutes' walk away
is Piazza Navona. Walking in the opposite direction, you can reach the
Vatican (St. Peter's cathedral) by foot in around 15 minutes. One block
away is Via di Monserrato, which has a number of quality restaurants
specializing in seafood
and Roman cuisine. The neighbourhood is well known for its handcrafted
goods and antiques shops.
There are also a lot of electric buses that link up from this road with the whole
historic centre of the city.
